DAY 3 | Mobile Networks [VAP]

Date: 21st January 2015

The key speaker for today was Dr. ASHUTOSH DUTTA.

 Dr. ASHUTOSH DUTTA

The 3rd day started with the history of Mobile IP, results of handoff, handoff delay analysis, how packets flows in a network.  He told us the mapping of OSI layers to mobility and IP Multimedia Stack. He showed one of the vision of 4G network, which is the mixture of all previous network systems like 2G, 2.5G, 3G etc. We studied the ARP, WifiMAX, binding update. He explained some of the experiments he had done in his past few years back. He highlighted the Technical issues of mobility management and specifying its solutions too. We studied the Network mobility,                                       Testbeds.

He clearly told us to learn Linux, Pearl, all C-languages like C, C++, C# and also learn python scripting and shell scripting. He emphasized that at least we should know these softwares/OS/languages in order to be called as engineering aspirants for wireless field.
3rd day didn't felt that much burden as most of the topics that were discussed yesterday were reviewed again that cleared our doubts but not all. The session becomes boring at some point where our mind gets completely blocked. We are unable to grasp the things that the speaker was conveying. But again whatever we were able to learn from them made us better some way or the other. Tomorrow will be the Project description and allotment session and hoping for the best to come ahead.
