DAY 4 | Mobile Networks [VAP]
Date: 22nd January 2015
For today the main speakers were Mr. Krishna Sirohi and Mr. Bhoopendra Singh.
Today's session can be divided to 2 halfs. 1st half was taken by Mr. Krishna Sirohi and the 2nd half was taken by Mr. Bhoopendra Singh.
Talking about the 1st half session taken by Mr. Krishna Sirohi, He talked about the Digital Wireless netwrok, HDLC protocols, BSC (in detail), LAPDm. He talked about the purpose of each OSI layer. He showed us the GSM carrier spacing with respect to time for a channel. He talked about GSM cellular Frequency Reuse, algorithm developments for network processes, GSM TDMA frace structure, location updation.
The 1st half session was understandable in the sense that we were able to know the functions o f the portions and protocols of the Mobile Networks.
2nd half was taken by Mr. Bhoopendra Singh. He has developed a particular network algorithm that is bieng used by navy.He is the person who is responsible for making of our projects. So he talked about the projects that can be made by the students. Of course knowing C language and Linux is important.
1. GSM networks.
2. Authentication in GSM Networks
3. TFT implementation
4. Cell selection and re-selection in GSM Networks
5. VLR implementation in GSM Networks
6. HLR implentation in GSM Networks
7. DHCP server
8. DNS server
The projects mentioned so far seemed very relevant in the sense that we will be making those projects whose implementation is followed in Network system Industries. Whatever that was told by Mr. Bhoopendra, we were able to make out that what the project is about but real problem will be when we will work on projects in a group. So far we even don't know which should we choose. Hoping to find a way.
